MTL Yardie was born from a passion for bringing people together through authentic Caribbean flavors and genuine Jamaican dishes in a welcoming setting. Rooted in family kitchens, we perfected jerk seasonings, slow-cooked oxtail, and fresh plantains recipes that honor tradition and community.

With over 25 years of experience in the food industry, Glen Spence is a passionate entrepreneur and the visionary behind M.T.L Yardie. As the proud owner of both M.T.L Yardie and M.T.L Bagel, Glen brings a wealth of culinary expertise and a commitment to quality that is evident in every dish served.

Glen’s journey into the restaurant business began with his love for great food and a desire to share authentic Caribbean and Jamaican cuisine with Montreal. Frustrated by the lack of true-to-style Jamaican flavours in the city, he set out to create a dining experience that celebrates bold spices, traditional techniques, and the vibrant tastes of the Caribbean.

Beyond the kitchen, Glen is an avid soccer enthusiast and a dedicated food lover.
